When will I receive my letters?

After submitting the sign-up form, you will immediately receive a confirmation email with your next steps. A Data Coordinator will contact you within the next 7 to 10 days with everything you will need.

Who do I contact with questions?

Please contact your Data Coordinator. This is the person who will email you all your materials. If you cannot find this email, please start by searching your email and junk folder for the subject line: My Faith Votes’ Write Now Ohio

If you cannot find the email, please send an email to actionpartner@myfaithvotes.org to obtain the contact information for your assigned data coordinator.

Do I have to write the entire letter?

No. My Faith Votes has a letter template for you to print. You will simply add a short message to personalize the letter. In your instructions, we will provide you with approved messages to use.

When will I receive the names & addresses?

A Data Coordinator will contact you within 7 to 10 days of completing the Write Now sign-up form. This email will provide you with instructions for completing the project, a letter template, and a list of names and addresses of people to mail. To be clear, the instructional email from your Data Coordinator is different from the confirmation email you received immediately after signing up. The email from your Data Coordinator will have the email subject: My Faith Votes’ Write Now Ohio.

May I write something different than your suggested comments?

We ask that you do not write your own message. Please select one of the sample messages provided in the instructions. As a 501(c)(3), My Faith Votes must ensure our messages meet specific standards. Most importantly, we must avoid endorsing a political party or specific candidate.

Do I have to print out the letters and provide the envelopes?

Yes. We are grateful for your contribution towards the printing, envelopes, and postage. You may claim the value of your donation on your taxes. Please consult your tax advisor for more details.

Do I need to print the letter in color, or may I print it in black and white?

It is up to you. You may print the letter in color or black and white.

How do I receive a tax deduction for my expenses?

All your expenses are tax deductible. If your expenses do not exceed $250, all you need to do is keep your receipts. If your documented expenses exceed $250, please forward copies of your receipts to actionpartners@myfaithvotes.org so that we can provide you with a receipt. Please consult your tax advisor for specific information on how to file the deductions with the IRS.

May I add my contact information to the letter if I would like?

For security reasons, please do not write any of your personal contact information on the letters or envelopes—this includes using your address for the return label.

When do I mail the letters? May I mail them right away?

Please mail your letters immediately upon completion. Our target is to have all letters in the mail no later than October 28.

Is it OK if I run the letters through my printer to print the addresses on them?

Please handwrite names and addresses on your envelopes. People are much more likely to open a piece of mail and pay attention to the message when the envelope is handwritten.

How many letters can I send?

The order form on our website allows you to select at least 20 letters and a maximum of 300. If you desire to do more than 300, please select 300 and then contact your data coordinator and let him/her know you would like to order more.

How do I order letters for a large group of people?

If you are working with a large group of people and want to send more than the maximum number of letters allowed in the order form, please contact actionpartner@myfaithvotes.org with your requested number of letters.

May I have others assist me in the project?

Yes! Many of our Action Partners host ‘letter writing parties’ in their homes so they can complete the project alongside friends and family. Please oversee the project and provide detailed instructions to each person partnering with you to complete the letters. We suggest you ask your church to host a writing party too.

Please request that everyone who works with you on this project sign up at www.actionpartners.org. We encourage this so that we can thank them and know how many people have participated in the project.

Keep track of which voter names are given to each person on the team. This will enable your data coordinator to provide team members with another copy of their materials if they misplace their originals.

What do I do if I cannot cover the costs, especially the postage?

Some Action Partners reach out to friends and family to help cover the costs.

What do I do if I cannot write and do not have funds to assist?

We can all do something and that means you, too. If you are unable to participate in the writing campaigns and you do not have the financial resources to support it, you can always pray. And prayer is the most essential element needed in every one of these efforts. We are so grateful to each person who chooses to invest in this way.

How do I know this will make a difference?

We keep close track of the impact of our efforts and measure the results against control groups. In the election campaign of 2021, we had tremendous success - as high as a 22% increase in Christian voter turnout. We anticipate that God will bless the work of our hands this time as well.

Why do some of the voters on my list have mailing addresses outside of Ohio?

All the names on your list are voters registered in Ohio, though some might have a mailing address in another state. Please send letters to all the voters on your list, even if the address is for another state.
