WEEKLY NEWS SUMMARY - OCTOBER 22, 2025

In this week's Intersect, read about:

No Kings’ Protests Expose Empty Anti-Trump Narrative

“On October 18, 2025, Americans across the country took to the streets in massive numbers under the banner ‘No Kings’ protests, but what exactly were they marching against, and what were they marching for? The protest movement presented itself as a stand against perceived authoritarian ambitions by Donald Trump. Yet beneath the slogans, the substance was thin and the message inconsistent.” Read more at Million Voices…

THINK.

  • When crowds mobilize en masse, clarity of purpose matters, labels like “king” sound dramatic, but without concrete examples, they risk becoming mere rhetoric.
  • Movements driven by emotions but lacking precise targets can lose moral credibility. Protestors were carrying signs with hateful slogans written on them, and many were found to be mocking the death of Charlie Kirk. Such protests are not fit for a moral and religious people (as John Adams so famously stated).
  • This issue unironically highlights the danger of an actual democracy; what the founding fathers called the “tyranny of the majority.” If the majority, or even the loudest of protestors were to have it their way, President Trump and his allies might be in serious danger.

PRAY.

Jesus, I pray for unity in our nation. May hearts be turned back to You. I pray for souls to be saved and a renewal of the hearts of men and women to love You and Your word. I pray for the soul of our nation, that we would be healed of hurt and pain that people have experienced, and any bitterness that has planted itself in hearts across the nation. May people experience forgiveness.

ACT.

Share with your friends, your family, and your neighbors about the history of kings and what America really did to separate from an actual kingdom that was oppressing their people over 200 years ago.

Generation Z Is Leading a Spiritual Comeback

“Across college campuses, legislatures, and media networks, something powerful is happening in America. What many are calling a revival seems to be sweeping through hearts and institutions that once appeared hardened. Faith, once dismissed as outdated, is finding new life among a generation hungry for truth, hope, and meaning.” Read more at Million Voices…

THINK.

  • The rise of faith among Generation Z challenges the narrative that young people are uniformly secular; many are seeking spiritual depth again. This revelation is very encouraging given how low our nation has become regarding spirituality and morality.
  • This revival moves beyond Sunday services into dorm rooms, campuses, and public life, suggesting faith is reclaiming its role in culture, not just in private. We might just be in the next Great Awakening!
  • When faith returns to the public square, it can anchor identity, purpose, and national virtue, reminding us that freedom without moral grounding can drift. Faith returning to colleges is a great sign that America is beginning to head in the right direction.

PRAY.

God, I thank you for youthful hearts. I thank you, Lord, for a yearning for Your holy word. Holy Spirit, continue to stir the hearts of the college students and youth across America. Thank you, Lord for the grace You have placed on this generation, to seek Your heart and search for something far beyond themselves.

ACT.

Support or join a faith-based initiative on or near a college campus. Encourage young people you know to engage in a Bible study, mentoring, or prayer group.

Trump Moves to Cut IVF Costs, Raising Moral Concerns

“Many people see in vitro fertilization (IVF) as a miracle of science. It allows couples struggling with infertility to finally have children. Recently, President Trump announced plans to make IVF more affordable by expanding insurance coverage and lowering drug costs. But not everyone sees this as simply good policy. Some in the pro-life movement say there’s a deep moral conflict at the heart of IVF.” Read more at Million Voices…

THINK.

  • Lowering cost barriers is laudable, but when policy touches on beginning-of-life issues, moral clarity is crucial: What is the status of each embryo? Moral clarity is always needed before making policy changes on new discoveries.
  • A society that values life must ask not only “Can we make this affordable?” but also “Should we do it this way?” The process and the ends both matter. Ethics matter here, too, which is why it is important to constantly put prudence and wisdom at the forefront of decision making.
  • America’s Constitution does not make any mention of IVF, leaving the issue to the states, as the issue of abortion currently is, once again. However, the Supreme Court will probably be challenged to hear a case regarding this issue, forcing our national government to take a more firm stand on the issue.

PRAY.

God, give our civil leaders the moral clarity they need to make the right decisions for our people. May we honor You with our laws and with the new discoveries in technology. Protect the unborn and may life be honored not just through natural conception, but through the new technological methods.

ACT.

Read the summary of current IVF policy proposals. Then contact your legislators or faith community to express support for fertility treatments that protect rather than compromise human dignity.

Transgender Identification Falls on College Campuses

“A new national analysis is showing something few expected: the number of college students identifying as transgender or non-binary is dropping sharply. According to a recent report … only 3.6 % of undergraduates now identify as a gender other than male or female. That’s a big shift from 5.2 % in 2024 and 6.8 % in 2022-2023.” Read more at Million Voices…

THINK.

  • The decline in transgender or non-binary identification on campuses suggests cultural shifts, not simply in labels, but in how young people view identity and belonging.
  • When mental-health, social-media dynamics, and identity trends intersect, it raises the question: are we truly helping young people understand themselves, or are we pushing them into cultural fads? This also shows just how volatile this movement is. Emotions can shift, highlighting the reason emotions should not dictate policy and decisions that can hurt our culture and nation.
  • An upcoming Supreme Court case, Chiles v. Salazar, could have major impact on this issue as it relates to therapy and bringing youth to truth. The case is challenging the conversion therapy ban in Colorado, which currently prohibits licensed therapists from engaging in conversations, with minors, about their sexuality, only if the therapist tries to “convert” the minor from homosexuality. It’s an attack on free speech and religious liberty.

PRAY.

Father God, I lift up the youth who are hurting and have been wounded by this barbaric movement that denies Your plan for man. I pray for healing in their hearts, their minds, and particularly their bodies. Heal them, in Jesus’ name.

ACT.

If you have influence with a university, school board, or faith-community circle, ask: How are identity issues being addressed? Are young people given space to explore without pressure to conform?
