May Our Vote be a Compassionate One

This week's focus: Compassion

Compassion is defined as -
  • sympathetic consciousness of others’ distress together with a desire to alleviate it
In this primary election season, may the Lord open our eyes in compassion to those who are weary and scattered, to the lost who are like sheep without a shepherd. May our vote be a compassionate one —a vote of concern for those who need God’s healing. May we earnestly seek His guidance in casting our vote. May the voice of God’s people in America today be one of compassion in response to the great needs facing our country at this time, and may the leaders we elect be compassionate as well.

Matthew 9:35-36 (NKJV)

Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd.

In Your Prayers, Remember:

  • The families of the two deputies who were ambushed and murdered at a Florida restaurant
  • The Bush family as they mourn the loss of former First Lady, Barbara Bush
