This week's focus: Devotion
Devotion is defined as:
- a feeling of strong love or loyalty
- the fact or state of being ardently dedicated and loyal
Thank you, Jesus, for your sacrifice and devotion to me. I pray that as I approach every election, you would show me how to demonstrate your love and devotion to the lost through my vote. Reveal to me, Lord, how I can lay my life down for the sake of others as I consider issues and candidates on the ballot. May my heart be devoted to you and to my “neighbors” in America whenever I cast my vote.
1 John 3:16
“This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.”
Prayer Points:
- Pray for the congressional staffers who work for our legislators. They are considered the “engines” of the legislators and carry a lot of influence. Pray for their wisdom and insight as they direct the daily schedules and interactions of Congressmen and Congresswomen.
- Schools across the country have either started or will be starting soon. Pray for the students, teachers and school staff in your community.
