We have Your Hope to Anchor Our Souls

This week's focus: Steadfastness

Steadfastness is defined as:

  • firmly fixed in place; not subject to change
  • firm in belief, determination, or adherence
Jesus, I praise you today for your steadfastness. I thank you that regardless of the outcomes of this election, we have your hope to anchor our souls, sure and steadfast. No matter the policies or leaders put in place this November, we can trust in the steadfastness of your kingdom and your sovereignty. Use your people, the Church, to restore civility in the marketplace. Keep us from getting caught up in the divisiveness and hateful feelings which have permeated our nation. I pray that you would remind your people of your steadfastness as we participate in the political arena this year.

Hebrews 6:19-20 (NKJV)

This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil, where the forerunner has entered for us, even Jesus, having become High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.

In Your Prayers, Remember:

  • Pray for Baker Jack Phillips and his family, as the Colorado Civil Rights Commission has renewed its attacks by filing yet another lawsuit against his business for failing to bake a cake celebrating gender transition which is, once again, against his strongly-held religious beliefs. The Lord is obviously using Jack as a symbol of religious liberty.
  • In spite of the media’s fixation on the “Unite the Right Rally” which was expected to result in widespread chaos in D.C., praise God for the Christian leaders in Charlottesville, black and white, who organized a series of measures, including bi-racial prayer services, to bring about healing for the city, though it attracted little to no media attention. This included a prayer walk around the city with a black minister (Rev. Alvin Edwards) and a white minister (Rev. Mark Beliles) holding hands.

We want to see God honored in America, and we pray for an unprecedented spiritual awakening.
