Weekly Devotional

Social Networking

This week's focus: Media

With the vast change in the way Americans communicate and receive information today, there is a great opportunity for the Church to use social networking for Christ. Pray today that God will give inspiration and new ideas to believers who have influence and skill in social networking. Pray that these ideas will shape the industry and cause its influence to be in the hands of godly leaders. Pray that this medium of communication will be used to spread the name of Jesus and put before people’s eyes the truth.

1 John 5:20

“We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true by being in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.”

Prayer Points:

  • Pray for the cultural moment in which we find the state of abortion in this country. Since the beginning of 2019, seven states have passed or are about to pass legislation that prohibits abortion after a heartbeat is detected or sooner. The hope is that these bills not only save lives but create a case that would cause Roe v. Wade to be overturned. For more specific prayer points, click here.
  • Pray for the escalating tensions with Iran. Specifically, the U.S. State Department ordered all nonessential embassy and consulate personnel to leave Iraq and warned U.S. citizens to avoid traveling through Iraq, citing a high risk of “terrorism, kidnapping, and armed conflict” because of reports that Iran and their proxies were planning to target U.S. forces in Iraq.

We want to see God honored in America, and we pray for an unprecedented spiritual awakening.
