Restoration - Weekly Devotional

This week's focus: Restoration

Restoration is described as:

  • the act or process of returning something to its original condition

God, I rejoice that your Kingdom has come to earth through your Son. I know we are in an age of “now-and-not- yet”—your Kingdom is here, but it is still to come. Today, I pray that you would make our nation part of your restorative work on earth. I pray that the results of this election year would usher America into an age of joyful participation in the ultimate restoration of your Kingdom on earth.

Acts 15:16-18 (NLT)

“Afterward I will return and restore the fallen house of David. I will rebuild its ruins and restore it, so that the rest of humanity might seek the Lord, including the Gentiles— all those I have called to be mine. The Lord has spoken— he who made these things known so long ago.”

Prayer Points:

Dear Lord,

We are seeing the damage firsthand that this virus is causing in our lives and in our nation. We know destruction, aching, and devastation may still continue, even when this storm dies down. If we are being honest, at times it can seem impossible that anything beautiful or good can come from such sorrows. We know within our hearts that this isn’t the end of the story, that You have something far greater to come.

Father, we ask today for Your hand in our lives. We pray for the restoration of our lives by Your process. That process may not look like what we would think or plan, but we know that because You see all that is, was and is to come...that ultimately, You will do what is most compassionate and best. Father, today we come before Your Holy throne to ask for Your restoration in our lives and in our country. We submit ourselves to Your ever-loving Will and kindness.

As Jeremiah 33:26 says, “For I will restore their fortunes and have compassion on them.” It is Your heart for Your chosen people to not only be restored but to be compassionately restored to something even better than before. Much like John 15 says about pruning, at times things will be removed or cut from our lives so that You can grow something even better in its place. We trust You with this process.

In Jesus' name, Amen.

We want to see God honored in America, and we pray for an unprecedented spiritual awakening.
