Prayer in the moment - Weekly Devotional

This week's focus: Prayer

How many times have we told someone we would pray for them and then we don’t follow through. You know how it goes...someone tells you of their pain, need or struggle and you respond by saying, with good intent, you’ll pray for them. But then, most of the time you never do. Not until much later, there is a feeling of guilt that it was forgotten. If prayers promised were prayed, this would be a different world!

So, instead of promising a future prayer, stop right at that moment and pray. Then and there. It’s funny how many are thrown off guard by the immediate action. “You mean, right now?!” "Yes, let's pray right now." In the restaurant, in the car, on the phone, through text or email, start praying as your response. Not only will it help to follow through on your promise to pray, but it will also show the mighty power of prayer in action.

James 5:16 (NLT)

"The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results."

Prayer Points:

  • Make an effort to put this prayer strategy into practice this week...pray at the moment of the request instead of putting it off until a later time.
  • President Biden's Cabinet will be influential in laying out and implementing policies that will impact the nation. Be informed of who these cabinet members are here and commit to praying for them and for the decisions they make.

We want to see God honored in America, and we pray for an unprecedented spiritual awakening.
