Pray for our Nation - Weekly Devotional

This week's focus: Prayer

We’re called to pray for God’s blessing and protection over the city and country we live in.

We’re called to both work and pray for the peace and prosperity of our nation. Faith in action is an important part of the Christian life.

We’re called to pray and intercede for our nation. And then we’re called to put those prayers into action and work for that peace we pray for. Prayer shifts our hearts to align with God’s so that we know how to act and the best way to honor Him through those actions. Spend some time today praying over our elected officials, our business leaders, and our cultural leaders. And then find one way you can take action to bring about the change you want to see.

Jeremiah 29:7 (NKJV)

And seek the peace of the city where I have caused you to be carried away captive, and pray to the Lord for it; for in its peace you will have peace.

Prayer Points:

  • Father, I pray for peace and prosperity in our country. Make me a bearer of Your peace. I pray You give us fresh eyes and hearts that are sensitive to what You are doing here. Show us Your ways and help us walk in them.
  • As voting is already underway in places throughout the US, pray for wisdom as voters make decisions from the local to the federal level. If you need a voter guide, you can visit our Voting Assistance Center to see your ballot, learn about the candidates in your elections, read party platform comparisons, find polling place locations, and see key election dates for your address.
  • We're in the middle of 28 days of specific prayer for our nation leading up to the election. Join us and others across our nation in daily prayer. The prayer guide can be downloaded here.

We want to see God honored in America, and we pray for an unprecedented spiritual awakening.
