Pardon - Weekly Devotional

This week's focus: Pardon

Pardon is defined as:

  • the excusing of an offense without exacting a penalty
  • excuse or forgiveness for a fault, offense, or discourtesy

I thank you today, God, for the gift of your pardon. I repent of all the ways I have sinned against you and pray that you would cleanse my heart of all iniquity. As I consider every election I have the opportunity to vote in, Lord, I pray that you would pardon your people in America. Cleanse our hearts of iniquity and rebuild us as a unified body, known by our love in this nation today.

Jeremiah 33:7-8

“And I will cause the captives of Judah and the captives of Israel to return and will rebuild those places as at the first. I will cleanse them from all their iniquity by which they have sinned against Me, and I will pardon all their iniquities by which they have sinned and by which they have transgressed against Me.”

Prayer Points:

  • Pray for the shooting victims and the families of those who lost their lives while attending the Gilroy Garlic Festival in Gilroy, California.
  • Pray for your U.S. Senators. If they don't know Christ, pray they come to understand the Gospel through loving Christian witnesses (Romans 10:14). Pray that they will become a part of restoring godliness in our nation.

We want to see God honored in America, and we pray for an unprecedented spiritual awakening.
This devotion was produced in partnership with Every Home for Christ.
This ministry is made possible by the generous support of friends like you.
