This week's focus: Obey
Obey is described as:
- to comply with the command, direction, or request of (a person or a law); submit to the authority of
Father, humble our hearts today so that we will hear Your voice. Help us as a nation to obey Your voice in all that we say and do. Forgive us for relying on ourselves instead of You. O Lord, give us a compassionate and giving heart toward those around us. Hold us to a higher calling, that we will carefully observe Your commandments, obey Your commandments, and be a nation under God with liberty and justice for all.
Deuteronomy 28:1-3 (NKJV)
Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the Lord your God will set you high above all nations of the earth. And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you because you obey the voice of the Lord your God: “Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the country.
Prayer Points:
- As some states start to re-open and others extend their stay-at-home orders, pray for the hearts of those across our nation as they navigate these uncertain times. Pray for God’s wisdom and peace. Pray for His will to be done. Pray for unity in the church. And pray against a spirit of confusion and conflict (1 Corinthians 14:13).
- May is National Foster Care Awareness Month. Pray for the foster parents and caregivers who provide children in need with the unconditional love, guidance, and support they need to succeed and ensure their well-being. Pray that children in your community would know they are loved by God and understand that He desires to be in relationship with them. Pray that children in foster care would experience a feeling of belonging in a foster family, a church community, or a group of friends within your community. Pray that God would lead them as they work through the trauma they have experienced in their past and in their present.
We want to see God honored in America, and we pray for an unprecedented spiritual awakening.
