My Faith Votes | May the Lord Convict the Hearts of Those Running for Public Office

Weekly Devotional

May the Lord Convict the Hearts of Those Running for Public Office

This week's focus: Fidelity

Fidelity is defined as:

  • the quality of being faithful or loyal
  • the degree to which something matches or copies something else
As we approach the mid-term elections, Lord, I lift up our leaders to you—all those we will elect in the days ahead. Your fidelity, God, gives us, your people, safety and security like a “roof over our world.” I pray that the leaders of our nation would demonstrate that same kind of fidelity—a faithfulness to their positions and to the people they represent that will bring a sense of security to the American people. May the Lord convict the hearts of those running for public office. But most of all, may we remember that our anchor is first and foremost in you and your faithfulness towards us.

Psalm 89:1-2 (NIV)

I will sing of the LORD's great love forever; with my mouth I will make your faithfulness known through all generations. I will declare that your love stands firm forever, that you have established your faithfulness in heaven itself.

In Your Prayers, Remember:

  • The families of those who were so tragically killed in the tourist duck boat carrying 31 people which capsized in Table Rock Lake outside of Branson, Missouri. Also pray for those who survived, but who are fighting for their lives
  • Those who were affected by a swarm of Iowa tornadoes which destroyed property and injured a number of people

We want to see God honored in America, and we pray for an unprecedented spiritual awakening.
