May God Bring America to Repentance and Heal Our Land

This week's focus: Repentance

Repentance is defined as -
  • the activity of reviewing one's actions, feeling contrition or remorse for past wrongs, which is accompanied by commitment to change for the better
  • a turning away from sin and turning toward God's righteousness
America has strayed far from our Judeo-Christian foundations, and we are witnessing the unintended consequences daily. We have killed 60 million innocent babies in the womb and labeled it a "choice", we have accepted all manner of sexual perversion as a way of life, we have chosen idols over God, and we have become a society with a blatant disregard for life. God's people, the Church, the bride of Christ, have remained silent out of fear of man. May a tide of repentance sweep across our nation starting with the Church. Let us pray for the Lord's patience and protection over America.

Monday, April 30, is the National Day of Repentance which precedes the National Day of Prayer (Thursday, May 3). May each of us truly examine our hearts and repent before the Lord. May God bring America to repentance and heal our land.

2 Chronicles 7:14 (NIV)

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

In Your Prayers, Remember:

  • The families of those so senselessly killed in the Waffle House shooting incident and the Toronto van attack as well as those who were injured
  • Praise God for the capture of the California man referred to as the "Golden State Serial Killer" who has had a 40-year reign of terror and who is believed to be one of the worst serial killers and rapists in U.S. history

We want to see God honored in America, and we pray for an unprecedented spiritual awakening.
