Let Us Model Your Calm Spirit During the Midterm Elections

This week's focus: Calm

Calm is defined as:

  • a quiet and peaceful state or condition
  • a peaceful mental or emotional state
In the midst of this tumultuous mid-term election season, oh God, I pray that you would bring your calm to America. I cry out to you, that you would hush the storm and bring us out of our distresses. Mold us in your heart of gentle calm and make us a safe haven. I pray especially that your people, your Church, in this nation would model your calm spirit as we engage with our fellow American citizens throughout the mid-term elections. May the Church lead the way in returning civility to the marketplace.

Psalm 107:28-30 (AMP)

Then they cry to the Lord in their trouble, and He brings them out of their distresses. He hushes the storm to a calm and to a gentle whisper, so that the waves of the sea are still. Then the men are glad because of the calm, and He brings them to their desired haven.

In Your Prayers, Remember:

  • Join Christians around the world in fervent prayer for the Thailand boys' soccer team and their coach who are trapped deep in the earth in a flooded cave which is fraught with perilous difficulties in rescuing them. Pray that God will show Himself strong by providing a miraculous means for rescue, as the authorities are now in a race against time due to an unexpected and precipitous drop in oxygen
  • Pray for the children of illegal immigrant parents and for officials working diligently to reunite the families. Because of the prevalence of human trafficking, DNA testing has to be employed to confirm parentage which has slowed the process

We want to see God honored in America, and we pray for an unprecedented spiritual awakening.
