Education - Weekly Devotional

This week's focus: Education

Young people are bombarded with immoral messages and temptations through movies, TV, music, and the Internet. Social media is intensifying this dilemma. We need to enter the spiritual battle that is raging for the souls of our youth. The words of Proverbs are still true today: “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it” (Proverbs 22:6).

Pray, by name, for youth leaders in your church and the churches of your community. Ask God to raise up many who can meaningfully share His Word and encourage young people to follow the Lord. Pray for effective youth programs that will impact young people from our communities who need to hear the Gospel. Pray that churches will train Christian youth in how to boldly share their faith with non-Christian friends.

Psalm 119:9-12 (ESV)

How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to your word. With my whole heart I seek you; let me not wander from your commandments! I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you. Blessed are you, O Lord; teach me your statutes!

Prayer Points:

  • As we honor Constitution Day this Friday, September 17th, take time to read through it and reflect on how it’s impacted our nation. Pastor Robert Morgan specifically highlights how “prayer saved the Constitution” in his book “100 Bible Verses that Made America.” Take a moment to read the story here.
  • Pray for the California recall election that will be decided on September 14th. If you are a CA resident, you can access our voter guide here and election information here.

We want to see God honored in America, and we pray for an unprecedented spiritual awakening.
This devotion was produced in partnership with Every Home for Christ.
This ministry is made possible by the generous support of friends like you.
