WEEKLY NEWS SUMMARY - OCTOBER 1, 2025

In this week's Intersect, read about:

Pro-Life Freedom Faces Supreme Court Test

“A pro-life nonprofit in New Jersey, First Choice Women’s Resource Centers, is preparing to argue before the U.S. Supreme Court in a case that could redefine the boundaries between state authority and religious freedom.” Read more at Million Voices…

THINK.

  • Democrat-led states are at odds with the Constitution and the Supreme Court’s decision on life in the womb. It is important for Christians to take these issues to the ballot box in their states and ensure that their legislature is placing language in the state constitutions to reflect God’s moral law regarding unborn life.
  • This issue highlights the reality that the anti-God political groups have taken language such as “reproductive health care” and defined it as “abortion” services. Words matter. When good people are not in power, just and righteous decisions cannot be made, therein leaving anti-God leaders to corrupt language and create bad laws that hurt people.
  • The U.S. Constitution makes no mention of abortion or anything regarding “reproductive healthcare services,” however, the 14th Amendment does read that no state can deprive any person of “life” without due process. The Supreme Court must begin looking at the 14th Amendment through originalist jurisprudence.

PRAY.

Jesus, may Your loving hand rest on the states and their legislature, to write and pass laws that make it clear life is to be recognized and protected from the womb. May this court case be resolved justly, and Your evidence be demonstrated in it, glorifying Your name.

ACT.

Help candidates get elected in your region and area who believe in the value of life in the womb. Ask them to introduce laws that ensure language is reflective of valuing unborn life. In this particular case, we need to make sure that the law recognizes “reproductive healthcare” only as protecting unborn life.

Supreme Court to Weigh Limits on Biblical Counseling

“In 2019, Colorado lawmakers passed House Bill 19-1129, a measure that banned licensed counselors from engaging in what the state defined as “conversion therapy” for minors. The law makes it illegal for therapists to offer any form of counseling that seeks to change a young person’s sexual orientation or gender identity. In practice, this means a licensed Christian counselor is forbidden from helping a child accept his or her biological sex, even if that is what the child or parents desire.” Read more at Million Voices…

THINK.

  • One of the main functions of a counselor is to discuss intimate topics that an individual is struggling with and walk them through it. Sexuality is a common topic, especially among Christian counselors. Christian counselors are unable to discuss this topic with minors, while secular counselors can affirm a person’s sexual orientation that God did not create.
  • If the Supreme Court finds the Colorado law to be unconstitutional, then this will mean that all other states that passed a similar law, will be immediately struck down, a huge win for individuals struggling with their identity and sexual struggles.
  • The Constitution makes no mention of this issue, implicitly or explicitly, leaving it as a matter to the states, according to the 10th Amendment.

PRAY.

Jesus, I pray that this decision is made justly. I ask for Your guiding hand to comfort those struggling with sexual sin, that You will love on them and fill them with Your joy. Encounter them with Your radical love, Jesus. Protect the counselors who want to do the right thing and offer their patients the help they need, while navigating the existing law that prevents them from acting according to Your word, Lord.

ACT.

If your state has passed a law banning “conversion therapy,” please reach out to your legislator and inform them that “conversion therapy” is not what they have been told; that banning it is now preventing Christian counselors from giving the help to their patients that is so desperately needed.

Faith and Forgiveness Define Charlie Kirk Memorial

“Tens of Thousands gathered on September 21, 2025, at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, to honor Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk. The Stadium was full, with overflow in the nearby Desert Diamond Arena. Fox News estimated 90,000 to 100,000 in attendance; other reports, including the New York Post, suggested numbers closer to 200,000 when counting those gathered outside and watching remotely. This in itself was remarkable, a massive crowd, but rarely had a gathering this large felt more solemn than sensational.” Read more at Million Voices…

THINK.

  • Honor is a beautiful value found in the Bible. It assigns heaven's value on a person, particularly when they have demonstrated excellence in character and made a monumental impact on a large number of people, like Charlie Kirk did.
  • The memorial surprised many people, reflecting a sentiment that many share, that America appears to be in the midst of a revival, and perhaps even in the middle of the next Great Awakening, a phenomenon not witnessed in nearly 190 years.
  • Erica Kirk delivered the most powerful message anyone can give: she forgave her husband's assassin, bringing countless people to tears. Her words highlight the need for more forgiveness to be given and the need for America to repent of her sins and rebellion.

PRAY.

God, I thank you for our nation. I thank You for forgiveness and mercy. Humble our nation, Lord, to seek You, to know You, and love You. May Erica Kirk’s message resonate with millions of Americans and stir them to seek You and find mercy in Your presence. Protect Erica Kirk and her family, and watch over the families of Americans across this nation, and stir us to repentance.

ACT.

In your own home, consider what you may need to repent of. Ask God what it is He desires you to remove from your life and consecrate to Him. The first step to restoring America is restoring our homes first.

Supreme Court Weighs Free Speech, Faith in Mississippi

“Gabriel Olivier is a Christian who enjoys sharing his faith with others. He often does this in public spaces by handing out literature, talking to people, and peacefully expressing his beliefs. In 2021, he wanted to share his message outside the Brandon Amphitheater in Brandon, Mississippi. But the city had a rule. Officials told him that if he wanted to speak about religion or protest, he had to move to a designated “protest area.” The problem was that this protest area was far away from the amphitheater entrance, where very few people would hear or see him. When Olivier refused to move and continued sharing his message, he was cited by the city and required to pay a fine.” Read more at Million Voices…

THINK.

  • It’s not enough for a law to allow speech; it must allow speech where people can actually see and hear it. If a city relegates speakers to remote zones, the law may be technically neutral but functionally silencing.
  • Olivier’s case highlights how rules about enforcement and legal challenges can trap speakers. If you must pay a fine before you can challenge the law, but doing so then blocks your ability to sue, that’s a structural barrier to defending constitutional rights.
  • Because Olivier is sharing religious content, the case sits at the intersection of free exercise and free speech protections. What restrictions are permissible in “time, place, and manner” when religious speech is involved? Where does a city cross the line from regulating order to suppressing faith?

PRAY.

God, we thank You for the land of the free, where we can peaceably worship You and call on Your name. I pray for a victory in this case, and I pray against any arguments that are brought against Your knowledge in Jesus’ name. Empower Your people to stand firm in the gap and lift Your name above all names.

ACT.

Pray for a good outcome in this case. Intercede for the plaintiff who brought this case forward, and pray for the justices to make the right decisions. Additionally, review the free speech codes in your community and make sure there are not any loopholes that can be exploited against you and your fellow residents.
