WEEKLY NEWS SUMMARY - NOVEMBER 12, 2025

In this week's Intersect, read about:

Judge Boasberg Hit With Articles of Impeachment

“The House of Representatives has introduced articles of impeachment against federal judge James Boasberg, alleging that he abused his authority through nondisclosure orders and subpoenas tied to the “Arctic Frost” probe that targeted Members of Congress. The case raises serious concerns about judicial overreach and the erosion of impartiality within America’s courts.” Read more at Million Voices.

THINK.

  • The judiciary is meant to be a neutral branch of government, yet these allegations suggest judges may be exercising political influence in dangerous ways. These allegations, however, are not new; many judges have been suspected of serious crimes, but none have been held accountable.
  • Public trust in the courts depends on the perception that judges are accountable to the same standards of fairness as all citizens.
  • When one branch of government escapes oversight, it threatens the separation of powers that protects liberty and justice. Judges can be impeached. It seldom ever happens, but it has been done. Given the level of severity and heightened corruption in our government, it is high time we begin doing it more.

PRAY.

Father God, we pray for our judges, that they make just decisions, and that they fear You above all. May Your justice be carried out.

ACT.

Contact your congressional representative to ask how they intend to ensure accountability within the judiciary. Then, share this story with others to raise awareness of why the separation of powers must be preserved if liberty is to endure.

Radical Victories Reshape America’s Political Map

“Recent elections in New York and Virginia reveal a shifting political climate where ideologically extreme candidates are gaining ground. A self-proclaimed democratic-socialist and other controversial figures won key offices, raising questions about leadership standards, moral integrity, and the direction of America’s future governance.” Read more at Million Voices.

THINK.

  • Winning power has become more important than preserving norms, integrity, or civil discourse. And now, people are running for office, openly standing in solidarity with terrorist sympathizers.
  • Radical change without wisdom or stewardship can lead to instability and harm families and communities. This is why the founding fathers discussed political prudence often; the practice of taking a step back and considering one’s thoughts before making any decisions.
  • Voters are hungry for transformation; however, in doing so, they choose political ideologies that are proven to be failures because they look good on paper and sound good in theory. This is why education is so important, and it highlights the extreme importance of running for the school board!

PRAY.

Holy Spirit, guide us. Give our nation a heart of repentance. May our young Americans understand Your heart on every issue; to hate what you hate and love what you love. Give each and every person an understanding that is needed to carry out Your heart in the area of reformation.

ACT.

Take time this week to review your local leaders’ values and priorities. Encourage honest discussions within your church, family, or community about what kind of leadership will strengthen, not divide, our nation.

Trump Announces Historic Move to Slash Obesity Drug Costs Nationwide

President Trump’s new policy aims to dramatically lower the cost of GLP-1 weight-loss drugs through direct manufacturer agreements and expanded insurance coverage. The initiative could make treatments like Wegovy and Zepbound more affordable while encouraging preventive healthcare and long-term wellness. Read more at Million Voices.

THINK.

  • This plan demonstrates the stewardship principle, governing with a focus on care, health, and responsibility. Government can make a difference in healthcare, but it must be prudent and very self-restraining about its powers.
  • Lowering drug costs may shift America’s healthcare system from reactive treatment to preventive care. With lower costs, Americans might be more predisposed to getting treatments early on, thereby preventing any future ailments.
  • Policy changes are only as effective as their implementation; success depends on transparency and accessibility. With Robert Kennedy Jr. serving in the office, things may shape up to look better for the health of Americans going forward.

PRAY.

God, give us the heart to steward our health with excellence. May we care about our health as much as we care about the other important things in our lives that we prioritize at the top.

ACT.

Consider how this health policy may impact families and communities around you. Share this story to promote conversations about stewardship, wellness, and personal responsibility in public health.

Historic Gov’t Shutdown Nears End, Questions Remain

“The shutdown is now the longest in U.S. history, but the Senate has advanced a framework to reopen the government and send a package to the House for a final vote. The plan would provide short-term funding while extending full-year appropriations for select departments, with Speaker Mike Johnson navigating competing pressures inside his caucus as the White House urges swift passage.” Read more at Million Voices…

THINK.

  • Shutdowns don’t just stall politics; they disrupt lives, families, and communities that depend on government services. Congress should consider cutting off their own salaries, while maintaining those being affected.
  • Democrats held the Senate hostage for nearly 5 weeks through the filibuster, which requires 60 votes to end debate. Republicans only hold 53 seats, leaving them short 7 votes, until 8 democrats joined them, with concessions.
  • The issue is not as simple as unity. American tax dollars are at risk of being severely abused, and these elected officials are elected to steward that with deep care.

PRAY.

Despite our failures as a nation, Lord, bless Your people who trust in You. May we make good and wise decisions as a nation, through our leaders.

ACT.

Stay engaged by following updates through credible outlets and contacting your congressional representatives to urge fiscal responsibility and cooperation. Offer support to those affected by the shutdown in your community; small acts of help can go a long way while the nation waits for Washington to act.
