Pastor Kidnapped At Gunpoint Recalls 'Miracle' That Saved Him

Tennessee Pastor Joshua Sullivan spoke to Fox News in May about his kidnapping in South Africa in April, recalling the “miracle” that saved his life. Read more at Million Voices.

THINK.

  • Sullivan is said to have been holding a prayer meeting with around 30 people, including his wife and children, when the four men entered the building. “They robbed two cell phones and then took the 45-year-old male pastor with them and fled the scene,” police noted in a statement.
  • Six days into the kidnapping, Sullivan said a miracle occurred. He was moved from the property to a vehicle, and had the feeling his kidnappers “had to get rid of” him, Fox noted. As they were moving him, Sullivan tripped and fell down a step, then another. He was put into the car, and the kidnappers moved it outside.
  • Sullivan was discovered because a tip about a suspicious vehicle led law enforcement to chase down information at a different location. The cops took a wrong turn and ended up in the driveway of the house where the pastor was being held, which was when the suspects started firing.
  • “Whether you’re a believer or a nonbeliever, I know that doesn’t matter. What happened to us, what happened to me, it was a miracle from God,” he said. “The sovereign hand of God was on it because as we were speaking before the interview, things like this happen all the time… and in this case… what else could you say besides God performed a miracle in our lives? … I think he did it to show the world.”

PRAY.

Dear God, we Thank You for Your miracle in rescuing Pastor Joshua Sullivan. We pray for the souls of those harmed in this awful situation. We know that it is often only with hindsight that we can truly see Your work. We pray for Your guidance in what to do about the rise in violence around this world, and vow to preach Your word in every opportunity. Thank You. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Churches Prepare For Coast-To-Coast Baptism Event: How To Get Involved

Baptize America is gearing up for a major event on June 8, 2025, and you can get involved no matter where you are in the U.S. Read more and check out photos from the previous events at Million Voices.

THINK.

  • I think that when God wants to do something, he kind of creates the right atmosphere and ecosystem for it to happen,” Pastor Mark Francey, host of Baptize America, said in 2024 during an interview with The Christian Post. And boy, was Francey right.
  • A year later, Francey and his team are helping define a major part of our Great American Revival through hosting the largest baptism events this nation has ever witnessed.
  • From Baptize America:
  • On Saturday, May 3rd, the sand and surf of Huntington Beach became holy ground as 7,752 people were baptized in the Pacific Ocean during Baptize California – the official kickoff event for Baptize America. Over the course of 10 hours, more than 25,000 people came through Huntington Beach to witness and take part in this historic baptism event.
  • Last year, during Baptize California 2024, over 6,100 people were baptized at this same beach, with more than 12,000 baptized statewide across multiple locations in California. The impact was so profound that people immediately asked how to join the movement and get baptized.

PRAY.

Father God, we come before You today, praising You for Your goodness. Fill our atmosphere with Your glorious Presence! Renew our hearts, bodies, and minds to focus on the present time and the work you’re doing in us. Help us be grateful for the growth and opportunities of this season. In Your precious name, we pray, Amen!

ACT.

If you’re getting involved in Baptize America this year, we want to hear about it! Actually, if you’re getting involved in any major baptism or faith-based events this year, we want to help promote your work. Whether it is on social media or the websites under our ministry, sharing stories of faith, freedom and the future of America is what we do. But we can’t do it without you!

America Likely Wouldn't Exist If Christians Stayed Out Of Politics, Says Greg Laurie

Pastor Greg Laurie shared some deep thoughts in mid-May about Christians and our place in politics, and we wanted to share them with you today. Laurie's post started by pointing out that "some people say, 'Christians—especially pastors—should stay out of politics.'" His response to this? "Why?" Read more at Million Voices.

THINK.

  • The gospel is needed in "every part of life," Laurie continued, noting that this "includes the public square, politics, and the halls of power." Believers are needed in these arenas, but, more importantly, we need the gospel to guide us through.
  • "And let’s be honest: if Christians hadn’t stepped into the political arena, there likely wouldn’t be a United States of America," he added, before noting in an op-ed that a majority of the signers of the Declaration of Independence were Christian, "27 had formal theological education," and John Witherspoon was a Presbyterian minister.
  • Laurie is quick to break down the myth that we exist in a nation that separates church from state. While this belief stems from a short-held Supreme Court ruling, known colloquially as the “Lemon test, the underlying law was essentially thrown out in 2022 after SCOTUS ruled that a high school football coach had the right to pray at the 5-yard line at the end of each game.
  • Countless acts have since cultivated a movement toward greater religious freedom in public spaces, particularly schools. “The First Amendment says it clearly: ‘Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof,'” Laurie added. “That’s not a wall of exclusion — it’s a shield of protection.”

PRAY.

Father God, we pray for all the men and women in government positions—whether elected or appointed, administrative or judicial—across this country. We ask that You fill their hearts with compassion for their fellow citizens, that You help them align with Your will, doing things that are pleasing to You. Help them to set aside any personal interests and focus on uplifting you and redirecting this country back to You. Surround them with good advisors who are seeking Your direction. Separate them from any voices that are leading them down the wrong path. We pray You will protect them in their endeavors and prevent any evil from prospering against them in Jesus’ Name. Give them all a deep, enduring faith in You that will provide them with the strength they need in this moment. We thank You, Lord, for Your unwavering love for Your people. We praise You and know that You are still on the throne in this world, in this country, and in our hearts! Blessed be Your name! Amen!

ACT.

“There are about 90 million Evangelical Christians in America. Over 40 million don’t vote. And 15 million aren’t even registered,” Laurie stated. “That needs to change.” As Million Voices CEO John Graves often says, Jesus calls us to be the salt and light (Matthew 5:13-16). Laurie broke this down by saying that “salt preserves what’s good; light reveals what’s true.” If we speak up for our faith, speak out against evil, “and yes — we vote” there is nothing that a collective united people of faith cannot achieve for America, and hopefully the rest of the world. Laurie asked that we join him in prayer for our leaders.

State Steps Up To Provide Children With Religious Education Outside of School

A bill requiring all public schools in Montana to allow children to attend religious instruction has flown through both chambers in 2025. Read more at Poll2Action.

THINK.

  • House Bill 343 was brought by Republican state Rep. Randyn Gregg, and squeezed through the Education committee in an 8-7 vote, before moving through the House on a 54-45 vote. It then moved onto the Senate back in March, according to KTVQ.
  • The bill changes the current state statute regarding religious education from a “may” to a “shall,” if time is requested by parents or guardians for their children to be removed from class to receive such education.
  • In layman’s terms: if you are a parent or guardian in Montana and you want your children to undergo some type of religious education, no one can stop you from removing your children from school to do so.
  • “Additionally, the bill states that school board trustees may permit school credit for religious release time courses,” noted the Pro-Family Legislative Network in an email to Poll2Action.
  • The bill was transmitted to the Governor on May 5th, and signed on May 12th.

PRAY.

Our Heavenly Father, we praise Your holy name! Thank You for giving us this great country. Help us to be good stewards of the blessings You have given us. Create in us a desire for change, helping us elect Christian leaders who will stand up for biblical principles. Bring about opportunities for us to go into the fields ripe for harvest to win people for Jesus. In Your name, we pray, Amen!

ACT.

We know you have problems that you want fixed in America. The biggest question we have to ask ourselves when we engage in politics or the public space is “how does my behavior, and how do my actions, glorify God?” We have an opportunity to reshape our social landscape around His word in the way our Founding Fathers intended. Tell your leaders how you feel about this and countless other issues by taking a poll at Poll2Action.

My Faith Votes— is a ministry that motivates, equips, and activates Christians in America to vote in every election, transforming our communities and influencing our nation with biblical truth. An estimated 25 million Christians who are registered to vote, fail to vote in presidential elections. My Faith Votes is on a mission to change this statistic by helping Christians act on their faith and vote in every election. When we pray unceasingly for our nation, think biblically about the issues, and vote consistently in every election the impact of Christians taking action from the local to the state and federal level will be unprecedented.
