WEEKLY NEWS SUMMARY - JUNE 24, 2026
In this week's Intersect, read about:
Democrats Renew Push to Expand the Court
"Radical politicians are using the recent Louisiana v. Callais decision to justify packing the Supreme Court. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg and other progressive leaders want to expand the court to force their extreme political agenda. Dedicated citizens must stand up to protect our constitutional freedoms, defend family values, and maintain the independence of the judiciary." Read more at Million Voices...
THINK.
- The independence of the judiciary is not just a political preference; it is a constitutional safeguard that protects every American's God-given freedoms. When radical politicians threaten to pack the Supreme Court for partisan gain, they are not reforming the system. They are attacking the very foundation that protects religious liberty, family values, and ordered justice for all.
- Court packing is a power grab, plain and simple. If one party adds seats today, the other will retaliate tomorrow. This dangerous cycle would reduce the highest court in the land to a political weapon, stripping away the independent check that stands between citizens and unchecked government power. We must be bold in calling this out and courageous enough to stand against it. The court would become as large as Congress.
- Scripture calls us to pursue justice, but true justice requires impartial courts, not ideologically stacked benches. The courts can only do so much, to the extent of the law. The Church needs to rise up and get involved to make the most lasting difference.
PRAY.
Lord, may Your presence touch those in the lower courts and the highest Court. I pray Your Spirit would bring wisdom to their minds and their discretion, that they lean on You as their counsel. May our leaders be guided by Your hand and no other.
ACT.
Continue praying for the Supreme Court. A simple email and call to your congressional representative to let them know not to push any court packing mandate could make the difference.
Trump Team Unveils Iran Deal Terms
"The Trump administration released the full text of its 14-point US-Iran deal on Wednesday, June 17, 2026. A senior US official read the memorandum to reporters on a call, three days after the document was signed electronically on June 14." Read more at Million Voices...
THINK.
- The Trump administration's release of the 14-point US-Iran deal is a bold and consequential step. Any agreement with a nation that has openly threatened Israel and funded terror must be weighed with clear eyes and a firm commitment to truth. People of faith must pray for discernment, for our leaders and for ourselves, as the details of this framework continue to unfold. Peace is worth pursuing, but not at the cost of Israel's security or America's strength.
- This deal is not final, and that matters. The 60-day window ahead is critical. Iran has a long history of deception, and our own officials entered these talks expecting exactly that. Now is the time for engaged citizens to pay attention, hold their representatives accountable, and demand that any final agreement include iron-clad verification, not wishful thinking.
- Scripture calls us to be peacemakers, but also to be wise as serpents. A deal that lifts sanctions and eases the naval blockade before Iran fully delivers on its commitments raises serious questions. We must pray that God grants our leaders the wisdom of Solomon and the courage to walk away if Iran's actions do not match its words.
PRAY.
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, seeking Your guidance and wisdom. Grant our leaders the discernment to see truth and the courage to act with integrity. Protect those working towards peace and ensure that justice prevails. Strengthen us as a nation to stand firm in righteousness and hold fast to what is good. Lord, we pray for clarity, honesty, and accountability in every decision made. May Your will be done and Your peace reign. Amen.
ACT.
Continue to pray for the Middle East. Intercede for them and ask the Lord to mend broken hearts. This conflict goes far beyond politics, and our world leaders need to know that. Only God can heal their land and truly end the conflict.
Justices Limit Gun Law for Marijuana Users
"The Supreme Court ruled unanimously last week that a federal gun ban cannot be used to prosecute a Texas marijuana user. The decision in United States v. Hemani marks a major moment for Second Amendment rights." Read more at Million Voices...
THINK.
- The Supreme Court's unanimous ruling in United States v. Hemani is a landmark political moment. A 9-0 decision, crossing every ideological line on the bench, sends a clear message: the government cannot strip away constitutional rights based on lifestyle choices alone, especially as federal and state marijuana policies continue to shift.
- The Second Amendment is not a privilege for the few; it is a right secured for all law-abiding citizens. Scripture affirms that God ordains governing authorities to protect the innocent and uphold justice. When laws are applied inconsistently or used to punish people for behavior the government itself has quietly tolerated, we must ask whether those laws still serve justice or simply serve power.
- Constitutionally, this ruling reaffirms the standard set in Bruen: restrictions on the right to keep and bear arms must be rooted in this nation's historical tradition of firearm regulation. The Court rightly found that old laws targeting "habitual drunkards" bear no resemblance to someone who uses marijuana every other day and has committed no violent act.
PRAY.
Lord, we thank You for a Court that upheld the rights You have woven into our founding. Guard the Second Amendment from those who would erode it, and grant our justices continued wisdom to interpret the law with faithfulness to truth, history, and justice. May every decision made in those chambers honor You above all.
ACT.
Stay informed on Second Amendment developments and upcoming Supreme Court rulings. Contact your congressional representatives to urge them to protect gun rights and oppose any legislation that would strip law-abiding citizens of their constitutional freedoms. Pray for our justices as they continue to navigate complex cases, and share this ruling with your community so believers understand what is at stake.
MLB Warns Giants Players Over Bible Verses
"Major League Baseball is facing sharp backlash after warning three San Francisco Giants players for writing Bible verses on their Pride Night caps. Critics say the league applied a double standard, pointing to its open support for Black Lives Matter messaging in 2020." Read more at Million Voices...
THINK.
- When Major League Baseball allowed "Black Lives Matter" messaging on the field in 2020 but then warned players for writing a Bible verse on a cap, it exposed a troubling double standard. This is not about uniform policy; it is about which voices get a platform and which ones get silenced. People of faith must be willing to name that inconsistency boldly and call institutions to account when they treat religious expression as a threat.
- Three baseball players wrote a Scripture reference on their caps and faced immediate pushback from one of America's most powerful sports leagues. That takes courage. God's Word does not shrink to fit the culture's comfort, and neither should we. When believers stand firm in the public square, even at personal cost, they testify to a truth that no organization can silence. We should honor that kind of faith and be inspired by it.
- The First Amendment protects religious expression in every sphere of public life, including the workplace. When the government allows political messaging on the field but enforces silence against Scripture, the constitutional question of equal treatment becomes urgent. Citizens, lawmakers, and legal advocates must hold institutions accountable to the same standard for all speech, faith-based or otherwise. Religious freedom is not a loophole; it is a founding principle.
PRAY.
Father, we lift up these three men who had the courage to write Your Word on their caps and stand firm in their faith. You are the Author of truth, and no league, institution, or cultural pressure can silence what You have declared. Stir boldness in the hearts of believers across this nation, in locker rooms, boardrooms, and every public square. Where there is a double standard, let it be exposed. Where religious freedom is threatened, raise up advocates who will not back down. May Your Word always have a place in the open, and may those who carry it never be ashamed. In Jesus' name, Amen.
ACT.
Stand with these players by making your voice heard. Contact Major League Baseball directly and urge them to apply their uniform policies fairly and equally, for all speech, not just the speech they approve of. Call or write your congressional representative and ask them to support a full review of MLB's federal antitrust exemption if the league continues to treat religious expression as a violation. Share this story with your church, your community, and on social media.
