D-Day's Legacy Lives On As Modern Political Battles Unfold - with John Graves
Million Voices founder John Graves joined The WallBuilders Show in June, where he discussed everything from the glorified UFC fight between Elon Musk and President Donald Trump, D-Day, to the modern political battles unfolding around us today. Listen to the full episode on The WallBuilders Show.
THINK.
- Like many people, Rick Green, Tim Barton, and Dave Barton of WallBuilders were pretty confused by the "UFC-style smackdown" between Musk and Trump in early June (which has already more than left the news cycle at time of writing). But what does these modern political battles tell us about our place in government?
- When titans clash, nations tremble. The recent public dispute between Elon Musk and Donald Trump represents more than just a personality conflict—it embodies a fundamental tension between principled idealism and political pragmatism that could reshape American politics for generations.
- John Graves of Million Voices draws powerful parallels to Ross Perot's third-party campaign, which split the center-right vote and delivered the presidency to Bill Clinton—twice. Yet there's hope in that painful lesson
- Rather than choosing sides in this conflict between powerful allies who have both made extraordinary sacrifices, we explore how their complementary strengths could unite for greater impact.
- The wisest path forward may be channeling reform energy toward competitive congressional races, creating the legislative majority needed for meaningful fiscal discipline while maintaining executive leadership committed to conservative principles.
PRAY.
Dear God, we pray Your steady hand leads our political officials into the best decisions to bring America to the forefront of Your Glory on Earth. We know we are only here because You need us to be, and our purpose is to bring Your love, Your light, and Your word to every soul that graces our planet. Let us align with You entirely, and accept that all of our leaders are merely men and women, like us, and depend on us to guide them as much as You lead us. We love You God, and pray for calmer seas ahead as we bring Your glory to our nation once again.
ACT.
As John Graves told us just a week ago, we must remember that the world was created in chaos, and Satan thrives in chaos, death, destruction, and deception. But God brings order. We understand that you probably feel this chaos right now as our news agencies are revealed for the propaganda that they produce in place of faith; that our leaders are built from both men of power and passion, but those who seek only individual glory and wealth. We The People have more power than any one man, and if we give that power to Christ our Savior, there is truly nothing we cannot achieve together. Instead of being mired in the chaos, pick your battles wisely and go forth in that pursuit.
SCOTUS Should Uphold Ten Commandments Law, Open Letter Says
NOLA.com published a powerful Letter to the Editor Monday explaining why the Supreme Court should uphold a law placing the Ten Commandments in Louisiana public schools. We thought we’d share parts of that letter with you today. Read more at Million Voices.
THINK.
- For more than 3,000 years, the Ten Commandments have guided the development of Western Civilization.
- “The U.S. Constitution’s First Amendment prohibits the government from establishing a religion or favoring one religion over another.” I submit that the Ten Commandments are not a religion, which is prohibited by the Constitution,” wrote Roger J. LeBlanc in the op-ed for NOLA.com.
- These core truths “shaped moral and legal foundations with prohibitions on core crimes; laws against murder, theft and perjury are found in every legal code,” as well as protecting “the rights of private property and give us a civil understanding of ownership, as well as respect for parents.”
- LeBlanc rightfully notes that without the Ten Commandments, the Magna Carta would not exist, nor the Constitution.
- Beyond the moral framework the Ten Commandments provides for being a good human, the wording encourages community, trust, and cooperation between our people in a way that no other document ever could — or has throughout history. Where is the harm in teaching these values to our children?
PRAY.
Dear God, Thank You for giving us the opportunity to bring these essential lessons back to the minds of our youngest generations. We pray that every single state in America enacts similar laws, ensuring that no child grows up in our public education system without knowing the importance, value, and essential nature of these God-given lessons. We Thank You for providing our greatest leaders with these words, and pray you enshrine them in our lives for all our existence on this planet. Amen.
ACT.
The Ten Commandments laws, and similar legislation, will be a running theme throughout our coverage in 2025. While many see this year as an “off year” for major political elections, it is during these times that the most nefarious actors work to undo our progress. Thankfully, Christ’s love and power is helping us fight back and bring His words to the front and center of public life once again. Are you part of this mission? If so, tell us your testimony and how you’re involved in the Great American Revival: kay@millionvoices.org
Ten Commandments Bill Arrives In Pennsylvania
Pennsylvania is the latest state to introduce a potential new law that would require schools to display a copy of the Ten Commandments, as well as a handful of other essential documents to the foundation of America. Read more and take action at Poll2Action.
THINK.
- Senate Bill 544 is sponsored by Pro-Family Legislative Network Sen. Doug Mastriano, and follows a slew of similar bills passing throughout U.S. states that bring the Ten Commandments back to the curriculum.
- These essential rules for a healthy and functioning society (and individual) were a part of America's education system until the mid-1970s and 1980s, but were removed due to a short-held legal precedent recently overturned by the U.S. Supreme Court.
- Along with the Ten Commandments, schools would need to display a copy of the Declaration of Independence, The Constitution of the United States, and the Constitution of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
- You might be shocked to learn that these texts are not part of a child's normal education in Pennsylvania, especially since the state ranks among the top for education in 2025, according to Fox.
PRAY.
Dear Father God, Thank You for giving us the power to bring Your light to every classroom and public space in the states that are working toward Your glory. Please guide us with a steady hand as we work together to break down the meaningless divides between each and every faith-based group, individual, and organization, so we might all work together for the collective purpose of Your glory. Please shatter the ties that bind those in their ignorance, remove all greed and lust from the hearts of those working for themselves yet use Your name. We pray for a collective consciousness in Your light. Amen.
ACT.
Thanks to major Supreme Court victories, we’ve opened new opportunities to restore faith and religious heritage across America. But this is only the beginning. Powerful, well-funded groups are fighting to prevent the return of the Ten Commandments, “In God We Trust,” and other historic messages to public spaces—including schools. Thanks to recent Supreme Court rulings, we’re restoring the Ten Commandments to public schools—starting in Texas and Arkansas and expanding nationwide. Together, we can restore timeless values and build a stronger moral foundation for generations to come. Click here to get involved in our major campaign to restore the Ten Commandments to as many public schools and institutions as possible!
Legal Scholar Argues Ten Commandments May Actually Be Twelve; Do You Agree?
An op-ed written by legal scholar Steve Lubet, published by The Hill in June, argues that the Ten Commandments “could become a dozen.” Read more at Million Voices.
THINK.
- States like Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas and more are poised to display the Ten Commandments across public spaces, particularly in schools.
- Though each state has dictated their own rules about the displays, groups like ours here at Million Voices, My Faith Votes, and more, are working to help fund the creation of the posters for classrooms and curriculums.
- “Nothing is more deep-rooted in the fabric of our American tradition of education than the Ten Commandments,” said Texas state Rep. Candy Nobel, according to the outlet.
- So, of course, others are coming out of the woodwork to try and either undermine or eradicate these essential lessons from the minds of American children.
- Lubet argues that the Ten Commandments appear twice in the Bible, in Exodus and Deuteronomy, describing Moses’s receipt of the covenant upon Mount Sinai.
- “Neither iteration provides directions for organizing the text into 10 laws, abridged to fit on a 16” by 20” poster, as commanded by the Texas statute.”
- If you want to read the rest of his (fairly pedantic) argument, you can do so on The Hill via this link. It is likely that Lubet will not be alone in trying to manipulate Americans into completely misunderstanding the purpose of these new laws.
PRAY.
Dear Heavenly Father, we pray that you gradually silence those who seek to undo all of our progress in our Great American Revival. We pray that those who speak out against You and Your word are brought into your flock, and find themselves in the love and joy you share with us so willingly. Amen.
ACT.
Million Voices, My Faith Votes, and a whole host of organizations and groups we work with are actively working to restore the 10 Commandments to public school classrooms — starting in Texas and Arkansas, and aiming to reach every state in America. For decades, these foundational truths were removed from our schools. But thanks to recent Supreme Court rulings, we now have the opportunity — and the responsibility — to bring them back. In Texas alone, over 11,000 schools are waiting. In Arkansas, more than 1,000 campuses are ready. That’s over 350,000 classrooms where this message can shine — with your help.
My Faith Votes— is a ministry that motivates, equips, and activates Christians in America to vote in every election, transforming our communities and influencing our nation with biblical truth. An estimated 25 million Christians who are registered to vote, fail to vote in presidential elections. My Faith Votes is on a mission to change this statistic by helping Christians act on their faith and vote in every election. When we pray unceasingly for our nation, think biblically about the issues, and vote consistently in every election the impact of Christians taking action from the local to the state and federal level will be unprecedented.
