WEEKLY NEWS SUMMARY - JUNE 17, 2026
In this week's Intersect, read about:
Cleveland Clinic Ends Gender Care for Minors
"The Cleveland Clinic has reached a settlement with the U.S. Department of Justice over its pediatric gender-related care. The deal was announced by the DOJ on Friday." Read more at Million Voices...
THINK.
- Clinics are not only obligated to avoid delivering services that harm their patients, but there is no constitutional measure that allows such behavior. Hospitals owe it to their patients to help, not harm them. This DOJ deal is a big step in the right direction to heal and mend what the medical industry has helped hurt.
- America's Founding Fathers would never have supported the "transgender" treatment. Such evil is in opposition to the principles of ordered liberty and morality. The decision by the DOJ must expand into other areas of the political and governmental arena as well.
- This is what it looks like when spiritual victories show up in what appear, at the surface, to be political battles. This kind of justice must continue.
PRAY.
Lord, may Your presence go forward and touch the lives of those who have been affected by the medical industry; those who have been hurt and manipulated into being mutilated for money and power. Turn the victims into victors, and may these victories become commonplace in our society.
ACT.
Stand in the gap. The only reason these actions and behaviors are exposed and brought to justice is that good people are serving in government and are bringing restitution and integrity to these areas of commerce and culture. Keep praying for those in the fight, and consider jumping into this spiritual and political battle in your community.
EPA Leaves Data Center Rules to States
"The Trump administration will not create nationwide environmental rules or recommendations for data centers. That was the message from EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin on Wednesday." Read more at Million Voices...
THINK.
- State authority plays a crucial role in addressing environmental challenges because it allows local governments to tailor solutions to the unique needs and circumstances of their communities. The EPA's decision to leave data center regulations to the states underscores the importance of empowering states to lead with flexibility and innovation. By prioritizing state oversight, we can ensure that regulations are both effective and aligned with the specific environmental and economic demands of each region. Now is the time to support and encourage our state leaders to take bold, decisive action for the betterment of our communities and the environment.
- The 9th Amendment is vital in this narrative as it reinforces the idea that rights not explicitly outlined in the Constitution are still retained by the people and, by extension, the states. This principle of unenumerated rights provides the foundation for states to take decisive and innovative steps in regulating industries like data centers, tailoring solutions to their unique environmental and economic circumstances. It serves as a reminder that empowering state-level decisions is not just a matter of policy but a constitutional safeguard for flexibility and localized governance.
- The 10th Amendment stands as a pivotal reminder of the balance of power between federal and state governments, making it profoundly relevant to this narrative. By reserving powers not explicitly granted to the federal government for the states and the people, it empowers localized decision-making that is essential for addressing complex, region-specific challenges like data center regulations. This principle ensures that states can craft solutions tailored to their unique environmental and economic landscapes, fostering innovation while maintaining accountability to their citizens. Ignoring this constitutional safeguard risks undermining the very foundations of our federalist system and the ability of states to drive impactful change.
PRAY.
Father, I pray for just decisions to continue being made in the EPA. May decisions be based on accurate science and information, not theories and pseudo-science. We want Your name honored in our nation's policies, including those in areas that we don't see as directly spiritual.
ACT.
Pray for those in power. They need wisdom and guidance across the entire country. Pray for policies in the EPA that align with the word of God and honor creation, rather than reflect the worship of it.
Travelers Can Pay to Speed Up US Visa Interviews
"The State Department is rolling out a new premium visa service that lets some travelers pay extra to get an interview faster. The pilot program starts July 1 and runs through Dec. 31, 2026." Read more at Million Voices...
THINK.
- This story highlights a significant political concern regarding equity and access within governmental systems. By introducing a fee-based expedited visa interview service, the policy raises questions about fairness, as it privileges wealthier travelers who can afford to pay for faster processing. It underscores the ongoing debate about whether such measures exacerbate inequality in access to essential services and how this reflects larger systemic priorities in government decision-making.
- While the introduction of a fee-based expedited visa interview service raises concerns, it also presents an opportunity to streamline operations and reduce backlogs for all applicants. By offering an option for faster processing, the policy could potentially generate additional revenue that might be reinvested into improving the overall efficiency and accessibility of the visa application system, ultimately benefiting a broader range of travelers in the long term.
- Additionally, the fee-based expedited visa interview service could incentivize innovation and technological advancements within the system. With increased funding generated from this optional service, governments could invest in modernizing outdated processes, implementing advanced digital tools, and enhancing security measures. This forward-thinking approach has the potential to not only improve the applicant experience but also bolster the integrity and reliability of visa processing globally.
PRAY.
Father God, give direction to our president and his cabinet members. Show them, even in these seemingly small but important policies, how to honor You in what they do.
ACT.
Advocate for improved visa policies by contacting your local representatives and sharing your support for innovative and secure solutions.
Swift Justice in Austin Metcalf's Murder Case
"A Collin County jury has spoken. Karmelo Anthony, 19, was found guilty of murder in the death of 17-year-old Austin Metcalf, a verdict that closes one painful chapter in the Frisco track meet stabbing." Read more at Million Voices...
THINK.
- Justice must be swift and resolute in the face of criminal acts to uphold societal trust and deter future offenses. The prompt delivery of justice not only provides solace to victims and their families but also reinforces the critical message that wrongdoing carries consequences. Delay undermines accountability, leaving communities vulnerable and eroding their faith in the justice system, a risk we cannot afford to take.
- Swift justice also strengthens public confidence in leadership and governance, showcasing a commitment to accountability and the rule of law. This reinforces the perception of effective political systems that prioritize community well-being and safety, fostering trust and unity among citizens.
- The young criminal in this case did not get the death penalty because he was a minor when he committed this crime.
PRAY.
Father God, expose corruption. Bring those to justice whose hearts are not aligned with Yours. May justice prevail, as it is part of the foundation of Your kingdom.
ACT.
Continue to pray for justice across the nation. Ask the Lord for His heart in each of these situations. You should also call your representative and request that they look into these matters further, whether they be local or federal, and expose them.
