WEEKLY NEWS SUMMARY - JUNE 10, 2026

In this week's Intersect, read about:

Ranked-Choice Voting Bans Rise Across States

"A wave of criticism is building against ranked-choice voting (RCV), and the numbers tell a striking story. Nineteen states have now banned the practice, and voters in several more are being asked to weigh in. Critics argue the system is confusing, slow, and erodes public trust in elections." Read more at Million Voices...

THINK.

  • While there is nothing inherently wrong with Rank-Choice voting, the system itself is costly, as most people do not show up to vote in the first place, inevitably leaving candidates below that 51% threshold. Monetary metrics alone suggest getting rid of RCV is a beneficial move.
  • People get tired of elections. One of the biggest reasons that keep people home is when run-off elections occur, causing people to become numb to voting. If people decide they would rather have their top candidate and that candidate only receives 40% of the vote, they ought to get their choice.
  • It's important to remember that this is not a moral issue. This is strictly political, which means no matter which side you fall on this issue, you are not wrong for having that opinion. This all comes down to preference.

PRAY.

Lord, help us to make the most prudent decision when considering how our elections are decided. Show us the best way, the most efficient way, in Jesus' name.

ACT.

Consider carefully whether or not you like rank-choice voting. It may come up on the ballot at some point, and you, as a voter, will need to know what that means when it shows up.

Arkansas Declares June Fidelity Month

"Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders has officially declared June 2026 as Fidelity Month. The proclamation, signed on May 27, calls on Arkansans to renew their commitment to God, family, community, and country. It is a clear and deliberate counterpoint to Pride Month, and a bold statement about where Arkansas stands." Read more at Million Voices...

THINK.

  • The declaration of Fidelity Month by Governor Sanders is a deeply spiritual move, emphasizing traditional values that align with conservative ideologies. By framing it as a counterpoint to Pride Month, this act directly inserts Arkansas into the national conversation on cultural and political divides, and it sends a spiritual message that Arkansas honors and fears God, not man.
  • In general, people are growing tired of the LGBTQ agenda. Politically, this is a smart move on the part of Governor Huckabee. She understands her constituency in her state and is giving them what they have asked for. It just so happens that what her constituents have asked for is that she honor God!
  • This declaration is just the first of many. Policies need to follow suit. Arkansas needs to pass a long list of bills that fortify the family. Schools need to be reformed and this needs to happen across the nation.

PRAY.

Father, I pray for the families in Arkansas. Heal them, restore them, and may this declaration be a firm statement that Your presence is honored not just in Arkansas, but around the nation in family legislation.

ACT.

Send a message to your state representative, senator, and your governor if you live in Arkansas and simply thank them for supporting this bill. If you live in another state, encourage your elected official to introduce legislation like this to honor God in your state.

Newark ICE Threat Suspect Faces Federal Charge

"A Brooklyn man was arrested and charged last week after threatening to kill a federal immigration officer and the officer’s family during a protest outside a Newark, New Jersey detention center. The case drew swift action from the Justice Department and the FBI, and has become a flashpoint in the ongoing standoff over immigration enforcement at Delaney Hall." Read more at Million Voices...

THINK.

  • The targeting of federal officers enforcing the law is not just a legal issue; it is a spiritual and moral one. When lawlessness is celebrated, the safety of those who serve is put at risk. Attacking law enforcement shows a disregard for public safety and respect for life at the deepest level.
  • This case is a sobering reminder that words have consequences. Rhetoric that demonizes law enforcement emboldens individuals to act against those simply doing their jobs. Steps must be made to reduce the rhetoric that is still being made publicly about law enforcement.
  • Policymakers on both sides of the aisle must come together to ensure that the rhetoric surrounding law enforcement is constructive, not divisive. Legislative measures aimed at fostering trust between communities and police, as well as improving officer safety protocols, should be prioritized to prevent such instances from escalating further.

PRAY.

Lord, protect the men and women who serve on the front lines of law enforcement. Give them courage, wisdom, and safety as they carry out their duties. Bring justice swiftly and righteously, in Jesus' name.

ACT.

Reach out to your local and federal representatives and urge them to take a strong, clear stance in support of federal law enforcement officers.

Judge Pauses Trump Anti-Weaponization Fund

"The Trump administration’s DOJ anti-weaponization fund has been halted by a federal judge, and the Justice Department says it will comply. The $1.776 billion fund was created to help people who claim they were targeted by the government during the Biden administration. Now, both Democrats and Republicans are pushing back hard against it." Read more at Million Voices...

THINK.

  • The halting of the Anti-Weaponization Fund is a troubling sign of how divided our nation has become. This fund was a crucial step toward accountability and justice for those wrongfully targeted. Why should Americans sit idly by while the government avoids scrutiny for its actions? We must stand firm in demanding fairness and transparency for all citizens.
  • At its core, this issue transcends politics; it touches on the moral and spiritual fabric of our nation. Justice, accountability, and truth are values rooted in the belief that all individuals are equal under God. To allow injustice to persist unchecked is to ignore our spiritual responsibility to defend what is right and to stand against oppression. This is not just a political fight; it is a matter of conscience and faith.
  • This issue underscores the urgent need for reform and accountability within our institutions. It highlights systemic failures that demand immediate action from lawmakers and leaders who must prioritize the will of the people over partisan interests. Corruption has been tolerated for decades, and we are still having to jump through hoops to expose it.

PRAY.

Father God, expose corruption. Bring those to justice whose hearts are not aligned with Yours. May justice prevail, as it is part of the foundation of Your kingdom.

ACT.

Continue to pray for justice across the nation. Ask the Lord for His heart in each of these situations. You should also call your representative and request that they look into these matters further, whether they be local or federal and expose it.
