WEEKLY NEWS SUMMARY - JULY 9, 2025

In this week's Intersect, read about:

Local-Level Officials Can Upend American Progress More Than Those At The Top

One of 2025's most contentious political races is the mayoral campaign in New York City. Even if you're living thousands of miles away, this race could still influence your day-to-day life in a fairly shocking way. Read more at Million Voices.

THINK.

  • Billionaire Democrats like George and Alex Soros might be one of the top reasons states like California are collapsing under the weight of their social decline, but did you know that the Open Society Foundation, and plenty of other well-funded far-left-leaning nonprofits and organizations have a huge focus on local-level elections?
  • When most of us think of the ways the government can hurt us, we often look to the state and federal leaders we elect, like California's Gavin Newsom, or New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani.
  • Mamdani describes himself as a "33-year-old socialist Muslim who wants to defund the police, globalize the intifada, and destroy capitalism," according to Fox News op-ed contributor Asra Q. Nomani.
  • America's Founding Fathers quoted one source more than any other throughout their speeches, writings, musing and more: the Bible.
  • But organizations that focus on local-level political action, taking it all the way up to the federal reaches of law, have worked tirelessly over the last 50 years to remove this essential part of our history from the public square.
  • Our Founding Fathers absolutely built this nation on the backs of strong Christian values, and it has taken less than a generation to eradicate this knowledge from the population.
  • This is what happens when we elect people who don't care about America to run our government, from the local, all the way up to the federal offices of this nation.

PRAY.

Dear God, please give us every opportunity to return this nation to the vision of our Founding Fathers. Please remove all bad actors, and those who seek to undo our 249 years of progress, and give us so many opportunities to bring Your light back to every single corner of this great country. This ask may be short, but we know it is far from simple. Work through each and every one of us for Your purpose. In Jesus Name, Amen.

ACT.

We will soon be launching our first major mission of 2025 as a ministry – bringing MyFaithVotes and Million Voices together in the pursuit of returning America’s classrooms to the historical foundations they were built upon. While most people think the Ten Commandments are strictly a religious set of rules, did you know that they not only guided the last 3,000 years of Western civilization’s development, but were also part of the core curriculum in America until just a few decades ago? You can help restore this core part of our historical foundation by joining our mission. To learn more please email kay@millionvoices.org

What Are The Main Differences Between Christians And Muslims?

In July 2025, we asked Grok 3.0 to tell us the main differences between Christians and Muslims. Its answer was very in-depth, and pretty fascinating, so we thought we'd share it with you today! Read more at Million Voices.

THINK.

  • While upwards of 85% of the world's Muslim population identifies as Sunni, New York City Democratic mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani publicly identifies as a member of the Twelver branch, a smaller niche subset of the 10-13% of Shia Muslims.
  • So, what did Grok (an artificial intelligence software similar to ChatGPT and Google Gemini) have to say specifically about this niche subset and how it compares to the Christian faith?
  • The short answer was:
  • "Twelver Shia practices conflicting with Christian doctrine include: rejection of the Trinity and Jesus’ divinity, belief in twelve infallible Imams and the Mahdi as a messianic figure, salvation through Islamic law rather than Christ’s sacrifice, unique rituals like Muharram mourning and temporary marriage, and clerical authority structures. These differ fundamentally from Christian beliefs in the Trinity, Jesus as Savior, sacramental worship, and ecclesiastical authority."

PRAY.

Dear God, we pray that all souls on this Earth find true salvation in Your light and purpose. We pray Your word returns to this country as our Founding Fathers intended. While so many people may never find their way to the Kingdom of Heaven, please guide us in how best to allow You to work through us, bringing millions more into your path through joy, love, and enriching purpose. We are merely vessels for You. Amen.

ACT.

Understanding the danger, power, and authority of how locally-elected officials can undo American progress is key to fighting back against the dangers these individuals and organizations pose. We have already seen what happens when we let short-term thinking and anti-American policies take hold, so please do not let this keep happening. Many Christians believe that God will save us all, and while this is true, He put you here for a reason. He put you here with the free will to be a changemaker, so what are you doing to help save America? Tell us today by emailing kay@millionvoices.org

America's Unrest 'Begins In The Classroom,' Says Expert

An op-ed published in late June by Fox News detailed how the "real crisis behind America's unrest begins in the classroom." Read more at Million Voices.

THINK.

  • Dr. Kent Ingle, president of Southeastern University, made a bold, compelling and pretty irrefutable argument in his most recent op-ed for Fox, where he took a deep-dive into the ongoing unrest across the U.S. right now, and why temporary solutions simply do not work.
  • "We debate policies, propose reforms, or seek to manage the chaos at the surface level. But the real crisis is far deeper and far more uncomfortable to confront: the unrest we see is the natural consequence of moral and spiritual decay. And that decay didn’t come from nowhere. It was cultivated deliberately, over decades, in our nation’s classrooms," he writes.
  • Until relatively recently, U.S. schools worked hand-in-hand with families and communities in order for all of them to prosper under the character-forming values of "respect for authority, love of country, personal responsibility, faith, and virtue."
  • One previous student told Ingle that he felt pressured to abandon his values just to be able to fit in. "It felt like I had to choose between staying true to my faith or being accepted by my peers and professors," the child apparently said, leading Ingle to argue that this type of "tension should never exist in any learning environment."

PRAY.

Dear Heavenly Father, Thank You for giving us the opportunity to act on your behalf and restore your place in the public square throughout our great country. You have allowed Western civilization to flourish for thousands of years, and we hope to continue where You let the Founding Fathers begin – by ensuring all children are raised to know Your Ten Commandments. Thank You for giving us these rules for life and letting them guide us as we move through this century. Help us restore this vision to the minds of our youth. In Your Name we pray, Amen.

ACT.

The Ten Commandments were once a cornerstone of American education—taught in schools and featured in the New England Primer, America’s first widely used schoolbook for over 150 years. We have a unique legal opportunity now—recent Supreme Court decisions (like the end of the outdated Lemon Test) have opened the door to restore and defend our history and traditions. It makes a visible, local impact—placing a poster in a school is a tangible way to stand for truth in your community. To learn more please email kay@millionvoices.org

‘Challenge The Faith’ Podcast Introduces Christians To Modern Voices Of Faith

"Challenge The Faith" is a relatively new podcast taking the young Christian landscape by storm, bringing voices from across the faith-based spectrum to the mainstream. Read more at Million Voices.

THINK.

  • Challenge The Faith is designed to bring all walks of life together under His word by tackling some of the "toughest questions and controversies of the Bible, the modern church for believers and non believers," according to their YouTube page.
  • There is no denying that we are in the middle of a Great American Revival, largely driven by the huge number of young people finding their faith and professing it publicly and without shame.
  • Many of these individuals come from non-traditional backgrounds. Some find Christ in their darkest moments, realizing that He and His Father will save our souls in a way that nothing on Earth ever will -- or can.
  • All too often, elder generations within the church are quick to turn young people away from faith.
  • We ignore their story of salvation in favor of our own, pushing our exact belief structures and experiences instead of listening to those who will lead when we are gone.
  • Division is the worst kind of moral danger within the church, so the next time you hear a young person testify in a way that doesn’t align with your exact belief system, please listen.
  • Being deaf to new ideas, new revelations, makes you blind in your journey. All we ask today is that you act from this place of unconditional love, let down your ego, and know that God has a plan for each and every soul – and you are simply one of them, and you are not supposed to know why you are here. Not yet.

PRAY.

Dear Jesus Christ and The Holy Spirit, please show us how best to champion this Great American Revival. Show us how to open our eyes, ears, and close our mouths as we listen without judgement to all those who are seeking to join our flock. Cast away the wolves who might seek to harm us, and let us shine a light on the sheepdogs who protect us in our journey. Thank You for putting us here at this time, and giving us the power to change the world. We love You, Amen.

ACT.

There are so many different ways that young people are finding their faith, but there are so many ways they are stunted or shamed in their journey. But there are just as many people working tirelessly to bring new minds to His light. Are you one of those people? What has your church or faith-based organization done to expand His ministry so far in 2025? Tell us your story for a chance to be featured across all of our platforms in the coming months – email kay@millionvoices.org for more information. We can’t wait to get to know you more!

My Faith Votes— is a ministry that motivates, equips, and activates Christians in America to vote in every election, transforming our communities and influencing our nation with biblical truth. An estimated 25 million Christians who are registered to vote, fail to vote in presidential elections. My Faith Votes is on a mission to change this statistic by helping Christians act on their faith and vote in every election. When we pray unceasingly for our nation, think biblically about the issues, and vote consistently in every election the impact of Christians taking action from the local to the state and federal level will be unprecedented.
