WEEKLY NEWS SUMMARY - JULY 2, 2025

In this week's Intersect, read about:

Louisiana Still Has Ten Commandments In Schools Despite ACLU Lawsuit

Mainstream corporate news media and the American Civil Liberties Union is misrepresenting a recent ruling by the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans on the display of Ten Commandments in all classrooms. Read more at Million Voices.

THINK.

  • The law was called “plainly unconstitutional” by a three-judge panel, who unanimously voted to try and shut down the displays, according to Reuters.
  • While the ruling technically blocks Louisiana from enforcing a law requiring the display of the Ten Commandments in public schools and universities, an estimated 95% of schools have already put up the displays and are not taking them down.
  • Reuters called the ruling a “victory for parents and students who accused Louisiana of trampling on their religious rights,” which seems like a short-sighted comment given that the law is, by definition, a huge step toward religious freedoms.
  • The Ten Commandments was part of U.S. educational curriculum up until roughly 50 years ago, which further begs the question: are these students and teachers simply victims of propaganda and manipulation by those who seek to eradicate the truth of America’s history — and the history of Western civilization?
  • The answer doesn’t really matter, as the case will now move up through the courts, with Louisiana Republican attorney general Liz Murrill saying she will take the case all the way to the Supreme Court if necessary.

PRAY.

Dear God, thank you for giving us fighters like Liz Murrill and all those working to bring Your law – the Ten Commandments – back to the normal educational curriculum of America’s children. We pray that you strike down every attempt to block Your word from reaching their ears. Please shine Your light upon every educator in this great nation and show them that without You, there is no future for our children. Please lift the blindness from their eyes, and reveal to them that the darkness they’ve been living in no longer has to be. We pray for You to bring out each and every warrior You’ve gifted to us in this lifetime, and see them fight peacefully for what is right. In Your Name, Amen.

ACT.

We’re helping to restore the Ten Commandments to America’s public schools — starting with Texas and Arkansas! We can’t do this without your help. Together, we can restore timeless values and build a stronger moral foundation for generations to come. That’s why we need your continued support. Your gift is the difference maker. It empowers a national movement to reclaim our moral foundations and restore faith-based values where they once stood proudly. We need more than donors — we need bold voices. Help us return a foundational piece of America’s moral and civic heritage to public schools in every state. Help display the Ten Commandments —a timeless symbol of justice, responsibility, and truth—across an entire campus.

EXCLUSIVE: ‘Stand Firm’ Says Sen. Dotson On Bringing The Ten Commandments To Classrooms

Million Voices spoke exclusively with Arkansas Sen. Jim Dotson in June as the state ramps up to deliver the Ten Commandments back to classrooms. Read more at Million Voices.

THINK.

  • “There are so many organizations working right now to implement this law as far as a project to help volunteer and pay for the displays in schools. All of these displays are donated, they are not paid for by tax-payer dollars, so it’s all voluntary contributions of the framed copies or copies of the posters themselves,” Sen. Dotson explained to Million Voices’ head of content Kay Hill.
  • “Many of these organizations will be contributing posters, and since they haven’t existed for the last 40-50 years, there will be many attempts to come up with designs and posters that fit the parameters of the law, and as those are released over the next month – through organizations like yours – people can begin to go and contribute to that effort, and even sponsor their own local public buildings and schools.”
  • “Long-term, I hope that this legislation allows us to return to the history and traditions of the U.S. I hope it allows our children to see and understand the Ten Commandments, and how they influenced the founding of our nation and the laws of society.”
  • We’re trying to get as many people to participate as volunteers in their local communities, as it is only by having people locally involved can we make sure these places get the posters up, and to stay up on the walls,” he added.

PRAY.

Dear God, once again we Thank You for leaders like Senator Jim Dotson. Without brave voices like his speaking out against the growing darkness in this country, we would be overrun by evil, and see you disappear as so many other nations are allowing right now. But we know the truth, that You are always with us. You never abandon us. And we will continue to fight for Your place in our nation. Please work through each and every one of us to enact Your will for our people, and protect us from evil. Amen.

ACT.

We might sound like a broken record this week, but we really need your help in bringing the Ten Commandments back to public schools. This mission might only be starting in Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas and Pennsylvania, but we know that if we work together, we can bring the Ten Commandments back to the entire country. Again: We need more than donors — we need bold voices. Help us return a foundational piece of America’s moral and civic heritage to public schools in every state. You can help display the Ten Commandments—a timeless symbol of justice, responsibility, and truth—across an entire campus. Help us be part of this great mission today – and tell us what you think of this law by emailing kay@millionvoices.org.

Apologetics Author Asks Simple Question Of Young People & Faith; The Response Is Overwhelming

Apologetics author Dr. Frank Turek asked a simple question in June: "Why do you think Christianity is becoming more popular among young people?" Read more at Million Voices.

THINK.

  • The responses Turek received were incredible, insightful, and we thought we'd share some of them with you today:
  • "While our generation grew up in a time of great sin, the wages had not been paid and the younger generations see the bill is due and only Christ can pay it.”
  • "Because it's true. In a new technological age such as this one, it's seemingly impossible to tell fact from fiction. We have all the information at our fingertips, but don't know what or who to trust. But, just like our forefathers understood, so do we. It's in God we trust.”
  • "Because tradition and the one true church cannot be destroyed, as Jesus promised.”
  • "Young people don’t just need hype and hope. they need truth, the kind that pierces; the kind that saves, and Jesus Christ is the only One who gives it."

PRAY.

Dear Father God, we pray for every young person in America today, and around the world, who is turning to You or away from You. We hope You will continue to guide them toward the salvation only You can offer, and the truth that shines in all darkness. As every child is born with the sin of Adam, we pray you will help us all in guiding each child into Your arms as we raise them. As it is written in Ecclesiastes 12:1 “Remember your Creator in the days of your youth.” It is only by acting now, with the youngest minds, can we perpetuate your revolution here in America. Work through us Lord to bring every young mind into Your flock, and Thank You for making this part of our soul’s purpose today, tomorrow, and every day. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

ACT.

All too often, elder generations within the church are quick to turn young people away from faith. We ignore their story in favor of our own, pushing our exact belief structures and experiences instead of listening to those who will lead when we are gone. Division is the worst kind of moral danger within the church, so the next time you hear a young person testify in a way that doesn’t align with your exact belief system, please listen. Learn from these young minds as they have been put here for a reason. Grow with young people, help them in unconditional ways, and do it with unconditional love. Being deaf to new ideas, new revelations, makes you blind in your journey. All we ask today is that you act from this place of unconditional love, let down your ego, and know that God has a plan for each and every soul – and you are simply one of them, and you are not supposed to know why you are here. Not yet.

INTERVIEW: 'Testament' Director Is Creating A Cultural Revolution With A Beautiful Retelling Of The Book Of Acts

"Testament" is the new and already hit series from Angel Studios, offering a gritty, innovative retelling of the Book of Acts. Read more at Million Voices.

THINK.

  • Million Voices spoke with the show's creator-writer-director Paul Syrstad in June about the first two episodes, which bring the viewer into the depths of a world reeling from the resurrection of Christ ... and let's be honest, aren't we all still somewhat reeling from this, the greatest gift our Father ever gave us?
  • Clearly something revolutionary is happening within the British Isles, and Syrstad has no idea he’s at the forefront of it — in the most humble and endearing way possible.
  • As a former(ish) Brit myself, I was very excited to see my countrymen engaged in His word, something I haven’t seen since the late 1990s; what has the response been from the general British public?
  • “One of my mentors Hugh Osgood prayed for the death of nominalism and I think that’s come to pass, so we may see it as there aren’t as many Christians, but it’s clearer now: everyone who has engaged in this show is really excited. Church screenings, and celebrating Christ’s word, and I feel something birthing something here.
  • We’ve been blown away by the Church responses, blown away, and excited. We’re still pushing the rock up the hill in getting the overall Church to engage in a whole new way with our faith, and in my hope is good. Quite wonderful, actually.

PRAY.

Dear Lord, let everyone on this Earth know You, love You, and feel Your love as we move into new ways of bringing the truth to the masses. We have already seen millions of minds turned toward You thanks to new forms of communication, and we ask that You keep channeling the greatest, most creative minds to the forefront of entertainment. Please allow us, Your flock, to rise above the noise, damage, and evil of mainstream entertainment, and bring Your light back to our screens. Let everyone who pursues You, find You. Let everyone who needs You, find You. Let all those who feel that space in their soul, fill it with You. In Your Name, Amen.

ACT.

Watching “Testament” and other hit series from Angel Studios and other Christian creative communities is one way to champion this new way of bringing His word to the masses. We want to hear what you think of these shows – whether it is “Testament,” or other hits like “The Chosen,” “Homeland,” “Jesus Revolution,” and more – tell us what you think by emailing kay@millionvoices.org. Once we have enough reviews, we will be sure to share the response, and keep this amazing new movement going!
