WEEKLY NEWS SUMMARY - AUGUST 27, 2025

In this week's Intersect, read about:

The New York Times and the Left’s Dangerous Dream of a New Constitution

Abolishing the Senate. Ending the Electoral College. Packing the Court. These are not just fringe talking points anymore. Two individuals recently gained national attention by suggesting America needs a new Constitution, arguing that such a rewrite is required for the political left to win the nation back. Their ideas, however, strike at the very core of the system that has governed this nation for more than two centuries. Read more at Million Voices...

THINK.

  • The political left has been pushing to remove the U.S. Constitution as the supreme law of the land and replace it with something far more sinister. They do not want God’s moral law being the foundation of man’s civil, but rather, man’s civil law being the ultimate law, which means God would no longer be honored, and your constitutional rights would not be recognized any longer.
  • The Constitution cannot be replaced or re-written without a convention of states through Article V of the Constitution. To do this will require two-thirds of both Houses (House and Senate) or by two-thirds of the states. This method has a high threshold for a reason; it prevents both the politicians and states from making changes to the law that is the highest in the nation.
  • Court packing has already been tried throughout the past century, especially under Frankling Delano Roosevelt. Fortunately, FDR was stopped by the U.S. at the time. Court packing refers to the method of adding seats to the court as opposed to waiting for a vacancy to replace a member. Though not immoral, adding seats to the court is very unwise as it is not good stewardship of government.

PRAY.

Lord, I ask You to turn the hearts of those in our nation who wish to uproot the good laws that we still in have place which reflect the values of Your kingdom. I thank You, Jesus, for a nation that we still have, a nation we still live freely in. Stir my heart for action and show me how to engage in a righteous way that moves Your heart.

ACT.

Get involved in a nonprofit organization or run for public office! One of the best ways to get involved is to place your name on the ballot, whether there is a vacancy or someone is already running. If you want to maintain what good laws we do have left, it’s on you to run or support someone who is running for office, and not just through your vote, but your money and your time.

Texas Ten Commandments Law Halted: Double Standards in America’s Classrooms

A federal judge has temporarily blocked a new law in Texas requiring the Ten Commandments to be displayed in public school classrooms. Senate Bill 10, signed earlier this year by Governor Greg Abbott, was scheduled to take effect on September 1. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has already pledged to appeal. Read more at Million Voices...

THINK.

  • The Texas legislature passed a law that requires the Ten Commandments to be displayed in every public-school classroom. A judge has placed a temporary hold on the law, but we are confident this hold will not last. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is working to push ack against the judge’s decision.
  • There is nothing unconstitutional about the Ten Commandments being displayed in classroom. Displays of religious symbols and teachings have not only been displayed in classrooms across America for centuries, the Bible itself was a schoolbook for nearly two centuries.
  • The law states that it is just a display, and only that. It is not a curriculum that is actively taught by the teacher, so there is no concern with any infringement on the rights of other students to freely believe and worship as they please.

PRAY.

God, I thank You for education. I thank You, Lord, for the privilege of learning, and I thank You for Your commandments. Father, will You flood the classrooms with Your Holy Spirit and stir the hearts of those students to observe Your laws and commands so that they can get even a small portion of Your word, whether they may not get it anywhere else.

ACT.

There are multiple organizations who are partnered together and leading the effort to get these displays into the classrooms. For $30, you can fill one classroom with the Ten Commandments! Just donate HERE.

Trump Admin Strikes at Political Symbols Painted on America’s Streets

“The LGBTQ movement has succeeded in spreading its symbols across America, on crosswalks, in classrooms, and even on government flagpoles, sometimes above the American flag. Symbols matter. They are not mere decorations; they carry meaning. The American flag represents the ideals that formed our nation. Other historic symbols, such as the Gadsden flag or the Appeal to Heaven flag, remind Americans of strength, sacrifice, and perseverance. By contrast, the Pride flag does not point to great accomplishments or timeless virtues. It represents a sexual identity and lifestyle, nothing more.” Read more at Million Voices…

THINK.

  • The LGBTQ movement has pushed their symbols on nearly everything; from social media profile pictures to the streets of American cities, they have made sure everyone knows about their sexual identity. As community members, the church has a responsibility to address this on their streets.
  • There may be resistance in the courts, as the Trump administration continues to make advancements in local municipalities, removing anything anti-American, such as LGBTQ symbolism that, first, affects the safety of the roads, and second, is in opposition to the founding values of America.
  • This is not about forcing Christian forcing our worldview, but rather, those opposing to American values pushing theirs, and using public tax dollars to do it.

PRAY.

God, touch the hearts of those who are not aligned with your will. We pray for good men and women in cities councils and in the position of mayors in the big cities to make Your name glorified, not sexual immorality. We pray for their hearts to be changed and for them to be divinely loved on.

ACT.

Pray for your city and state. Speak out against your city leadership—email and call them if your city has symbols you disagree with. The only way things will change is if the church speaks up.

The Push to Abolish Property Taxes Gains Momentum

Conversations across the country are intensifying over the possibility of abolishing property taxes altogether. More Americans are asking a simple but profound question: if I am forced to pay taxes on my property, do I really own it? With this concern rising, many now believe the end of property taxes could happen in their lifetime. Read more at Million Voices…

THINK.

  • Property taxes go back many centuries, older than America. Getting rid of property taxes will be difficult, but not impossible. Consider the possibility that a flat tax may compensate for the “lost” revenue of what the property tax takes in.
  • Property taxes are not federal. They are statewide, and even local, like Texas, where the school boards get to set much of the property tax rates.
  • Scripture is clear as to how taxes should be used but leaves it in the hands of man to prudently decide what and how to tax. If it is excessive, it is not biblical (Nehemiah 5:1-13).

PRAY.

God, we pray for good stewardship of our money, that our civil leaders will not abuse that money, but rather, use it to benefit the common good of our states. In honor of Your word, God, we ask that our resources be returned to us that belong to us, because You have decreed it so. We give the praise and glory.

ACT.

Find out who oversees your property tax and petition them to lower it. In Texas, it is chiefly the school boards who set that rate. If you are in another state, it may be your state legislature. Whoever it is, find out and petition them to find a new tax, like a consumption tax, that does not tax your property, but instead, what you purchase within your monthly budget.

My Faith Votes— is a ministry that motivates, equips, and activates Christians in America to vote in every election, transforming our communities and influencing our nation with biblical truth. An estimated 25 million Christians who are registered to vote, fail to vote in presidential elections.
