How To Get Involved In National Day Of Prayer From Your Own Home
Tomorrow (May 1) is National Day of Prayer here in the U.S., a tradition older than our great nation. Read more at Million Voices.
THINK.
- The great American tradition of joining in a National Day of Prayer each year dates back to the Second Continental Congress, well before the signing of the Declaration of Independence, according to Hallow.
- “We may, with united hearts and voices, unfeignedly confess and deplore our many sins, and offer up our Joint supplications to the all- wise, omnipotent, and merciful Disposer of all events,” the Second Continental Congress said on June 12, 1775.
- Just over two decades later, President John Adams cemented the tradition with a single day focused on prayer, and, for many, fasting. President Harry S. Truman then issued a proclamation in 1952, formally instituting our National Day of Prayer.
PRAY.
God of hope, fill us with all joy and peace in believing, so that we will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. You have caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead; therefore, we hope in what we do not see. This world is not our home or reality, but the Lord is our Rock, our Truth, our certainty. God of hope, we pour out our praise and are filled with Your powerful presence.
We pour out repentance of sin and are filled with forgiveness and righteousness. We pour out pain from the attacks of the enemy—anxiousness, fear, anger—and You fill us with courage, assurance, and love. We pour out our needs, the desires of our hearts, and are filled with Your Kingdom provision and purpose. We pour out our hearts for our nation, for the people and places, relationships and responsibilities the Lord has established: the Church, Family, Education, Business, Military, Arts, Entertainment, Media, and Government. May all who live, serve, and steward in these be filled with Your purpose, wisdom, strength, and truth. Let Your lovingkindness, O LORD, be upon us, as we have hoped in You. In abounding hope, anchored by our hope in the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen!

‘Spiritual Battle’: Satanic Temple Targets National Day Of Prayer
California Family Council (CFC) is hosting a “powerful gathering” on May 1 at the California State Capitol in Sacramento for the National Day of Prayer as the Satanic Temple plans their own festivities. Read more at Million Voices.
THINK.
- Millions of Christians are joining together today (May 1, 2025) in honor of our National Day of Prayer. Many of them are gathering in California, as you share in your own way, wherever you may be.
- “Praying together at the Capitol is more than symbolic—it’s a bold declaration that faith has a place in the public square, and that prayer has the power to change hearts, shape policy, and bring renewal. With an uplifting schedule of Scripture, worship, and intercession, every moment of this gathering will be an opportunity to unite in purpose and call upon the Lord with one voice,” CFC wrote in a statement about their National Day of Prayer celebrations.
- The aforementioned “Satanic” group are planning their own festivities at the California State Capitol, in what CFC described as “boldly mocking the sacred purpose of the National Day of Prayer and attempting to sow confusion, darkness, and deception.”
- “They are not hiding it—they are deliberately gathering to desecrate a day meant for prayer. They intend to publicly reject Jesus and promote a godless worldview under the banner of ‘pluralism’ and ‘personal freedom,'” CFC added.
PRAY.
Dear God, we do not fear anything from those who wish us harm and mock us, chastise us and try to see our faith diminished because we know Your will and purpose for us all. It is great and we have nothing but respect for every chance we get to embrace You. Thank you for the opportunity to share in this joyous day in honoring You and everything You have given us. This gift of life is the greatest thing You could have done for us. In gratitude, always, Amen.

Young People Speak Out On Why They’re Converting To Christ ‘En Masse’
An article published by the New York Post in mid-April detailed how young people, particularly Millennials, are converting to one religious denomination in particular … Read more at Million Voices.
THINK.
- We already know we’re in the middle of a Great American Revival. People from all walks of life are moving into a relationship with Christ, but there is one generation who keep causing concern for the Christian community: Millennials.
- This generation, born in the mid-1980s to mid-1990s, are deeply spiritual, but many sway toward personal definitions of faith.
- A report from the New York Post found that, at the same time many explore their faith, just as many young people are turning to Catholicism, and the answers are absolutely fascinating (for example):
- “There’s just something so beautiful and transcendent about the rituals and the ancient history in the Catholic Mass that’s been preserved,” a woman named Sydney Johnston, 30, told the outlet. “The church really communicates a degree of reverence that I didn’t find in the more liberal, laissez-faire approach of nondenominational churches.”
- “Up until that point, I was such a workaholic, but during the pandemic, I started thinking and revisiting my criticisms of Christianity,” she said. “I just started reading the Bible, and I found so much wisdom and beauty and meaning.”
PRAY.
Dear God, Thank You for bringing so many new faces into Your light in these last few years. We know this Great American Revival is truly a global experience, and we are just one small group of people partaking in Your joy. Even where the darkness falls, we know You will guide your light. We may not have all the answers, but we know You do. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Understanding how young people are engaging with their faith is one of the most important things we can do – whether we’re older, younger, or in that wacky middle-ground demographic. Not all Millennials are moving toward Catholicism; some are exploring Christ in many, many other ways. - The movie is inspired by the works of Charles Dickens, following a father and son on their journey through the life of Jesus Christ “delivering a fresh and heartfelt take on the greatest story ever told.”
- The film was directed by Seong-Ho Jang and features a huge line-up of stars, including Kenneth Branagh as Charles Dickens, Uma Thurman as Catherine Dickens, Pierce Brosnan as Pontius Pilate, Mark Hamill as King Herod, Roman Griffin Davis as Walter Dickens, Forest Whitaker as Peter, Ben Kingsley as High Priest Caiaphas, and Oscar Isaac as Jesus Christ.
PRAY.
Dear Heavenly Father, please continue this momentum in normalizing faith within our entertainment culture. Please bring more and more souls into Your light and out of the darkness that has dominated this industry since its inception. We pray Your hand guides these men and women as they use their voice to glorify you. In Your Name, Amen.
